Quantus Weekly: The Suits Are Getting Q-Pilled

The suits are getting Q-pilled.

This week Blackrock published a report on quantum computing and blockchains, and the Whitehouse issued an executive order accelerating their timelines for PQC migration.

Both confirm:

  • Going post-quantum is an execution problem (no longer an ideological debate).
  • Elliptic curve cryptography is at risk.
  • NIST standards (ML-KEM, ML-DSA, and SLH-DSA) are the solution.
  • The hard part is coordination.
  • Migration needs to be completed in under 5 years.

There’s over $2T at risk in the crypto markets, and it’s our objective to secure as much of that as possible before Q-Day.

Here’s what we shipped this week:

Github Stats

Core Tech & ZK:

  • Advanced formal verification of our ZK circuits and a subset of Plonky2.
  • Fixed a consensus bug that caused occasional temporary reorgs.
  • Consolidated the runtime’s security-critical code into a single auditable surface ahead of security audit.
  • Released a JavaScript SDK to make Web3 integration easy.
  • Tightened runtime security and reviewed the runtime code surface.

Network & Infra:

  • Reminder to miners: recent runtime upgrades require a CLI update to claim rewards.
  • Improved the Subsquid deploy strategy for node updates.

Web & Mobile App Updates:

  • Added balance and history refresh on incoming notifications.
  • Added technical governance notifications and security monitoring.

  • The White House issued an executive order setting deadlines for federal systems to migrate to post-quantum cryptography.

It’s up to us.

Stay frosty, quants.
